Brookline Music School Event

Brookline Music School will sponsor the fundraising event, "Aid for Japan Marathon Concert" on Saturday, April 2 from 9:00am - 8:00pm to show support for the victims of the disaster.  The concert is open to all students and faculty members to perform, and we hope to have many of you participate, or you can choose to be an audience member. This might also be an excellent time to once again perform the piece you prepared for the Dynamic Duos concert a couple of weeks ago.

Lesley University Japanese students, International Student Office, and Campus Club, and other Lesley offices will do the Fundraising Concert for Japan Relief. This earthquake has caused many people's death, Tsunami, and issued of nuclear plant. Victims are living in shelter. They do not have enough warm place to sleep, gas, lights, and water. Employees of nuclear plants are taking care of nuclear power melting to protect Japan even though they have high risk of becoming serious sick in the future. We will bring you awareness of issues of this earthquake and pray for recovery.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers for the people who were affected by the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan.  As of March 17, 12:00am, the official death toll of the earthquake and tsunami had risen to 5,178, and approximately 8,913 people are still missing.  315,513 people have lost their homes or needed to be evacuated from their homes.  There are 25,460 who were rescued by the Japanese government team of 80,000 members and rescue teams from all over the world. Survivors are trying hard to stay calm and to help each other while showing respect to others in the face of disaster. Your messages and kind donations in support of their efforts and are of the utmost help to the survivors and rescue teams.
